My husband had specialist knowledge about what is needed to run a self sufficient unit and we equipped the hut accordingly, and it all came together extremely well. Riverside Hut construction is faultless - we can’t praise their workmanship highly enough.
Bed: Brand new sofa bed included in the sale. This gave us greater flexibility for space and enabled us to have a drop leaf table and two chairs in the main living area.
Water: Extremely large storage tank fitted under chassis for shower, loo and washing up, powered by large battery powered pump, which in turn is solar powered and 240 volt electricity. Solar panel included in the price.
Gas: Two gas bottles for gas cooker, together with outside housing for bottles, are included in the price.
Separate gas boiler to provide hot water for shower, hand basin (in separate bathroom area) and sink is powered by an inverter which transforms battery power to 240 volts.
Heating: hot air unit blowing hot air through vents into bathroom and lounge area. Thermostatically controlled and powered by diesel, stored in tank under hut.
Lighting: powered by the batteries and all lighting is LED. Including two outside lights.
Loo: Thetford electric toilet. Spare cassette included.
Shower: large efficient shower supplied with hot water from the gas boiler.
Fridge: gas
All windows are double glazed and insulation is extremely efficient
