The Home Office

Quality and individuality

No two shepherd huts are the same, but some are more unique than others. Jeannie remembers a very individual project…

"Karen had seen us at various shows but never got the chance to speak to us as we were always so busy talking to potential customers. She said it was not a problem because, as soon as she walked into each hut at the shows, she knew we were the right people to make her special hut. The quality was what stood out to her.

"She wanted a hut in her Welsh garden to work from home, as she has a very successful online business with a busy unit in the next town.

"As the hut is so near the house, she didn’t need any water supply or toilets. Karen was the most helpful of customers; she sent all of the sockets, light switches, lampshades, the table and even the wallpaper. She knew exactly the choice of colour for the walls and windows and sent the colour swatch for us to match.

"The wallpaper was a first for us and we were a bit unsure about how it would look, but we were amazed by how lovely it looked. It suited Karen’s company logo exactly.

"The table was a dining room table that she had found but was too tall. Our carpenter planed it down to exactly the height that Karen needed. We even had our electrician change the flex on the lights to what was wanted. The flooring was oak just for that extra special finish.

"Karen has added a desk, armchair and flat screen TV to complete her perfect hut.”

"I knew I wanted an outdoor home office, but without the hassle of a building project and all the disruption that brings. I was unsure of what the solution was going to be until I saw Riverside Shepherd Huts at the Malvern show; from the moment I stepped into their show hut, my mind was made up and my heart was set.

"I knew exactly what I wanted the hut to look like, right down to the colour of the light switches and Dave and Jeannie understood all of my design ramblings, kept me updated throughout the project, brought my fusspot ideas to life and delivered me my perfect hut.

"I am chuffed to bits with ‘Doris’, as she’s been fondly named. The only problem now is, I spend more time in the hut than the house!”
